![]() ![]() About the Volkswagen typefaceĪ German word that means “people’s car,” Volkswagen, which was originally known as Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH, was state-owned by Germany and a project of Adolf Hitler in pursuit of his desire to provide affordable yet speedy vehicle for the masses for their transportation needs. The download file below includes these 2 typefaces in both OTF and TTF font format. Please remember that both of these fonts are licensed as Free For Personal use only. As the name suggest, this lettering style has been mainly used as the updated text font for Volkswagen literature. There is also a companion font called VW Text. The image below shows both of these fonts in action, and how the font lettering has been applied to the logo for the Volkswagen Golf 7. This new updated font comes in both Regular and Bold styles, and includes a full set of Uppercase, Lowercase, and Numeric character glyphs. The VH Head font replaces the VH Headline font which had been in use up until 1997. It is a custom design Sans Serif font created specifically for the Volkswagen motoring group and was first released in 2015. The Volkswagen font that is used in the current logo is a typeface by the name of VW Head. ![]()
